Uniteam GSSP (Gas Safe Shelter in Place)
The Uniteam company has designed and constructed a variety of gas safe shelters in various places in the world.
A major problem occurring from time to time in oil/gas fields arises when there is an outbreak of unwanted harmful gases i.e. Hydrogensulphide. A combination of the safety of the workers and H2S-protection is an imminent factor.
Uniteam has succeeded in designing such a gas-shelter based upon the used of containerized buildings and patented gas tight sealing. In emergency mode the shelters inside atmosphere will be over pressurized, thus providing two solutions for the user, breathing air and no penetration of gas for a limited time of operation. This operational time is decided by customer prior to construction.
These shelters have proved their existence and capability several timed in areas like Tengiz in Kazakhstan where high H2S-concentrations are major concern.
These shelters, supplied with air locks, also serves offshore drilling and production facilities. The units are approved by DNV, Germanischer Lloyd or ABS.
Very often these shelters serves a dual purpose. When not put into “Emergency Mode”, the A-60 shelters are planned for and used as canteen facilities for personnel.
